Bilic Remains Optimistic Of Croatia Chances

October 14, 2009

Despite the current state of things, Bilić and co. are remaining optimistic toward their last qualifier today and are hoping for the best in Andorra. They have now finished their last preparations for the match with Kazakhstan.

Bilić said in a short interview, “We are still in the game. There are always chances, even if they are small as in our case. We do not expect a miracle in Andorra, but we still theoretically have a chance to finish second in our group. So we are preparing for this game the same as always. But, I would even send the goalkeeper into the Kazakhstan box to get us more goals.”

He has previously said that he will reconsider the Croatia post after the World Cup. When the question was posed again, he replied, “I am concentrating completely on the upcoming game, nothing else, and we can talk about other things afterwards.”

Despite him reconsidering, the media have been conversing about who could succeed him as manager.

Their lineup today is:

Vedran Runje; Vedran Ćorluka, Robert Kovač, Dejan Lovren, Danijel Pranjić; Darijo Srna, Ognjen Vukojević, Ivan Rakitić, Niko Kranjčar; Ivan Klasnić, Mario Mandžukić
