Bilić to Reconsider Croatia Post
September 25, 2009
Up until now, Slaven Bilić has been set on leaving his position as the coach of the Croatia national team after the World Cup 2010; however, he has recently reconsidered the situation and has now stated that he could very well stay. Website sportal.hr posed the question soon after Croatia’s latest qualifier with England and Bilić replied, “People can change their characters and lives, but opinion cannot be changed. Luka Modrić told me he would love to see me continue on as coach even after the World Cup, and that really means something to me. So, if I really feel they want me to stay and to coach Croatia, then I could do so because this job has no price.”
There is little doubt that there would be anyone who wishes him not to continue, so hopefully he will stay on board and lead the national team to the Euro 2012. Bilić stands to be one of the best managers of Croatia after they gained independence in 1991.
