Bresciano & Others Recalled To Socceroos Squad
November 4, 2009
Marco Bresciano has been recalled for the Asian Cup qualifier against Oman at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat on November 15.
Bresciano returns to the squad after a knee injury prevented him from the recent international friendly against the Netherlands in Sydney and the Asian Cup qualifier against Oman in Melbourne last month.
Bruce Djite, Brad Jones and Mile Sterjovski also return to the squad for the first time since helping the Socceroos qualify for the 2010 World Cup.
Goalkeeper Adam Federici, meanwhile, receives his first call-up since the 2010 World Cup qualification match against Uzbekistan in Sydney in April.
The Socceroos head to Muscat having defeated Oman 1-0 to move into equal top position of Group B.
The teams first played each other in the 2007 Asian Cup finals in Thailand, where they played out a 1-1 draw in the group stages at the Rajamangala Stadium.
