More injury doubts for Scotland
October 6, 2008
Scotland are set to play Norway at Hampden on Saturday the 11th of October in the next match of their World Cup qualifying campaign and they have 2 new injury worries ahead of the game.
Kevin Thomson had to be carried off during Rangers the defeat to St Mirren while Kris Commons missed his match at the weekend due to injury.
Norway have their share of injury doubts too Per Cijan Skelbred looks like missing the match whilst Steffen Iversen and Bjorn Helge Risse are also doubts.
Scotland assistant manager Terry Butcher was happy to hear that only 2 players have called of so far as the squad is often depleted by injuries at the last minute.
“We will see tonight when all the squad reports,”
“Kris Commons hasn’t played for a couple of weeks and Kevin Thomson got a really sore one yesterday at St Mirren, so we will see what the doctors and physios say.
“We will look at all the other players as well and I’m sure there will be one or two little knocks and niggles.
“But, at this moment in time, there are only one or two who could be a doubt, which is remarkable for Scotland because there are normally eight or nine at least.”
