Rooney set to be fit for World Cup Qualifiers

England have received a boost that Wayne Rooney will be fit and ready for their next round of 2010 World Cup qualifiers against Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The England forward got stretchered off of Manchester United’s win over Aalborg on Tuesday and everyone feared the worst but although he is a doubt for the weekend he is likely to be fit to join up with England.

“Wayne has an ankle injury and is doubtful for Saturday, but he should recover in time for England’s forthcoming matches.”

It is a huge relief for Manchester United that Rooney is not going to be added to the injury list after seeing Paul Scholes stretched off midweek resulting in him being sidelined for 10 weeks
