Soccer City is the more common name for the FNB Stadium, South Africa’s major football venue. Soccer City is one of ten venues chosen to host matches at the 2010 World Cup Finals. In it’s original form, the FNB Stadium boasted the third largest capacity in African football, holding an impressive 78,000 people.
In preparation for the 2010 World Cup finals, the capacity of Soccer City was upgraded to 104,000 as part of a major rennovation. It will be the major stadium used in the finals.
Soccer City is owned by the South African Football Federation and is the home of the South African national football team. The ground is located in Johannesburg.
Where will 2010 World Cup Final be played?
Soccer City will host a number of matches at the 2010 World Cup, including the World Cup final itself.
It will also play host to the opening game of the Finals, our more first-round matches, one second-round match and a quarter-final match.
