South Korea coach will quit after World Cup
April 10, 2010
South Korea coach Huh Jung-moo says that he will step down from the role at the end of their World Cup campaign, no matter how well the side do.
Huh took over from current Australia manager Pim Verbeek in 2007, but his regime has come under fire of late after some poor performances against Zambia and fierce rivals China in recent months.
However, the coach confirmed that he will not be in the hotseat after the World Cup, no matter what happens.
“I have never thought what will happen after the World Cup,” he said. “I will leave the national team even if we get a good result there.
“I hope a good coach takes over the job and continues what I have been doing. As you all know, discussions are already underway for a new coach for the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.”
