That is the question Italy coach Marcello Lippi is asking.
Toni had been dropped from the Italian squad since the Confederations Cup last summer.
Toni played his first match last week with AS Roma after the Bayern Munich loan move.
“I saw a great performance by Toni,” said Lippi. “I was very impressed considering he had not played for several months.”
Lippi has not yet fully closed the door on Toni being part of 2010 squad but only 23 players can go.
Toni has expressed much interest in being on the Italian national squad and if he keeps on playing like he can, I don’t see why Lippi would keep him out.
