Totti Still Undecided On International Future
April 6, 2010
Roma forward, Francesco Totti is still unsure as to whether he will return to international football ahead of this summer’s World Cup in South Africa.
Azzurri boss Marcelo Lippi is known to be a keen admirer of Totti’s talents, with the mercurial forward playing an integral role in the former Juventus boss’ World Cup-winning side in 2006.
And with the Italian national team seemingly lacking players with the creativity that Totti undoubtedly possesses, the Roma talisman would certainly be a useful addition to the squad.
“I do not know if I will return,” said the 33-year-old.
Totti said, “I have not spoken to Lippi and I must also consider my physical state.”
“Furthermore, I have to see if the team wants me. So there are many things to consider,” he added.
Totti has a title race to focus on in the meantime, with the Giallorossi occupying second spot, just a point off Jose Mourinho’s Inter and with only six games to play.
