February 27, 2008
We have received a large volume of emails from people interested in getting tickets for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa and will keep you up to date on the ticket arrangements via this page.
As yet, tickets are not yet on sale however it is anticipated that ticket sales for the finals will go on sale in early 2009.
How do I buy tickets for the 2010 World Cup Finals?
There have been 4 categories created for the sale of tickets for the 2010 World Cup with the average ticket price being $139 which is roughly the same price as the World Cup tickets for Germany in 2006.
Category 4 tickets will be a bargain $20 but are only available to the South African public to allow the poorer section of society to be able to afford to witness the glory that is the World Cup. The maximum price that will be charged for a ticket is $900 for a category 1 ticket to the final.
For the first time FIFA have announced that they are going to give away 120,000 tickets which will cover all the rounds even up to the final in the World Cup to the South African public to allow even more to witness the event.
The first phase of ticket sales will take place in February 2009 with the participating nations each receiving 12% of the ticket allocation for their games, if there are any more available these will go on public sale most likely through FIFA’s official website but we will update you with regards the exact dates for ticket sales to the finals when we have the information.
Also for the first time since the 1998 World Cup in France tickets are also being distributed to worldwide travel companies so that they can arrange special travel packages, so we will give you more information on these and links to purchase the tickets as soon as we can.
